This was his first triathlon/TT bike purchase. After an initial bike fit sizing check, we narrowed it down to a handful of makes and models. He ended up choosing a great one -- QR CD0.1 High-Mod Carbon frameset. Within a few days I was able to source a very low miles 2011 frameset in his size and in excellent condition. We were well on track to meet his initial budget limit of $3,000, until he decided to upgrade to the Reynolds Assault Carbon Clinchers at the last minute ;-) All things considered, he got a TON of bike for just $3,250!!
